Dream.Love.Grow travels to remote areas in Cebu, Philippines to spend time with various communities. Often taxis are taken or sometimes vans have to be rented. Taxis can often be unreliable modes of transportation especially during the evenings when few of them pass by. In the Philippines, you can not just call up a taxi service and have them come to you. Vans can also be too big to drive over the rugged and mountainous areas of Cebu and the costs of both these methods we utilize add up over time.
What we are seeking is to fundraise money for a CREATIVE LOVE MOBILE (and preferably environmentally friendly) that we can use permanently for our weekly visits. Our goal is a Mitsubishi L300 (or an environmentally friendly version of it), rugged enough, safe for our equipment and large enough to fit our volunteers.
2010 Recap and Promo Video
Dream.Love.Grow received the opportunity to learn of the Mandaue Landfill. After one visit, we've made it a point to go back regularly. The children especially have given us every reason to. For many it is their home and their sole source of income. They work hard on a daily basis in the heat and the awful smell to collect paper, plastic and bottles which they return and make money from. And even in the worse conditions, they still laugh and smile and are happy to see us every time we go.
Our goal is to regularly bring care packages, which would include: basic medicinal supplies for coughs, pains and stomachaches, vitamins, water, clothing, towels, blankets, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Our future plans include a dental mission and the 12 week photography program for the children.
One Act of Kindness - 1 - Dana Harper
The Albert Schweitzer Orphanage is home to about 60 children. With the Rhema Creatives weekly visits with these wonderful children are possible. This community is maintained with the support of donations and volunteers so we make it a point to bring support and love. Our visits have included teaching values, vocals, dance, art as well as bringing dental/medical care and feeding programs.
Christmas Visit at the Orphanage
Dream.Love.Grow received the opportunity to travel to Southern Leyte, an island about 4 hours away from Cebu. We spent a weekend with over 100 children who have been placed in this institution because their families are unable to provide for them financially, mentally or spiritually. The Children's Village is founded by one man name Jeurgen Schneidt who has created this beautiful place with his own pension. He inspires us to continue on with our dream.
We support the Children's Village and with Let's Share TV, we travel here to bring a weekend of art and fun.
