The Hövding took design students Anna and Terese about seven years to develop. “The law that had just been introduced in Sweden making bicycle helmets compulsory for children up to the age of 15 had triggered a heated debate on whether it should be extended to include adult cyclists too” and set these girls off to utilize this for their joint master thesis. It is now a revolutionary concept. Bikes are the way of the future, they say, and if people can use bikes AND travel safe, Life would be better for all. “If people say it’s impossible we have to prove them wrong.” For the vain ones that hate the way helmets look, this one folds up, lightweight and inflates in 0.1 seconds. And it’s now finally available for purchase at a whopping 3,998 SEK (~$597). Though this is not cheap, it will definitely be worth it if you won’t wear a regular helmet.
