Santa Lucia, Cuba – Here at Dream.Love.Grow we believe in direct acts of kindness. We believe in recycling and reusing whenever possible and we also believe that whenever you get the opportunity to combine both, do so. After collecting donations from old possessions people didn’t need anymore or want, we sorted through the goods and compiled a few love packages. Just last week a few artists were heading to Cuba so we decided to send a bag of goods with them and asked them to give them out. The point? To leave a little bit of love for some mothers and fathers, some of the cleaning staff and a few, what we call “beach hustlers” with children. We figured they would either enjoy the gift bags themselves, trade the goods for something else more valuable or pass on the love to someone else they know. We’d like to think of it as the LOVE effect.
Each package was equipped with:
1) 2 pieces from a few artists: artwork, airbrushed tees, hand-sewn bandannas etc.
2) A nice piece of swag – either a hat, name brand tee, or any gently used piece of clothing
3) Stickers from Canada
4) Sample perfumes
5) Coloured markers
6) Love
Every day one of these was given away and every day a smile was given in return.
